A proposal on behalf of Dave follows immediately. Falling in love one with the other, they live 4 years together. Peet, Dave & Annie found The Catch in 1977 then The Tourists associated with Eddie Chin and Jim Toomey. A contract is signed with the Logo recording company which they will leave for RCA Records in 1980. The end of Tourists in 1980, at the time of a world tour, will see also the end of the history of love between Dave and Annie.

She will however not prevent the creation of Eurythmics immediately afterwards. This new departure is not easy, far is necessary some. At the end of 1981, whereas the winter is icy, Dave D-is hospitalized for pulmonary problems following its car accident. Moreover, their first album signed Eurythmics, In the Garden , is a commercial failure. Annie sinks in full depression and joined her parents with Aberdeen. A digital keyboard, a tape recorder with 8 tracks and the noises of the very close factory will be used to create the album Sweet Dreams . The voice of Annie is recorded the night whereas the factory is closed and that there is no more the noise of the machines. The album is entirely carried out to two without any outside assistance. Begin with its exit real success from the group. Until 1985, Dave is devoted entirely to Eurythmics then assists other artists for several recordings (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in 1985, Daryl Hall in 1986, without counting Bob Dylan which it makes record in its own studio and leaves the lapse of memory, or Mick Jagger).

Whereas Annie Marie in 1984 with Raman Radha, disciple of Hare Krishna and becomes vegetarian, Dave marries Siobhan Fahey group Bananarama in 1987. The same year, it founds Anxious Records.
