Dave Gibbons

Dave Gibbons (born the April 14th 1949) is a scenario writer and draftsman of Comic S Britannique.

Gibbons was made known rather quickly in the milleiu comics British while working of the titles of action and horror for cd. Thomson and IPC Media. When 2000 AD was created, Gibbons there was named artistic director and drew one of the original strips Harlem Heroes like some short stories. After the first year Gibbons unloaded on daN Dare , a project dreamed for him which was a fan of the original series. Gibbons drew also a derived strip, Ro-Busters , and a couple of stories in two parts of the original saga of ABC Warriors . The last work of Gibbons for 2000 AD was the first version of Rogue Trooper of which he was also the Co-creator, after which he concentrated for a time on Doctor Who Weekly/Monthly .

Gibbons was one of the British talents identified by Len Wein in 1982 and started to draw Green Lantern for cd. Comics. It is more known in the United States to have collaborated with Alan Moore on Watchmen . Among the fans of Doctor Who it is known like the artist of Doctor Who Weekly/Monthly , drawing principal the comic strips majority of the numbers of the #1 to the #69.

It also contributed to the title Beneath has Steel Sky Revolution Software of 1994.

Its more recent work (2005) is a graphic novel in black and white which it drew, The Originals . Published by Vertigo, this work is held in the near future, but its graphics is strongly influenced by the imagery English connected young people and rockeurs of the Sixties.

Its projects in progress include/understand the mini-series of cd. Comics The Rann/Thanagar War (which is related to the mini-series event to come Infinite Crisis ) and Green Lantern Corps: Reload . Gibbons provided also the covers of Albion , series Wildstorm baséee on a screen of Alan Moore and wrote by his/her Leah daughter and her husband.
