Dauphine Spi
The Spi Dauphine is a race of French veil. It is organized by the association of law 1901 of the same name and which is placed in the enclosure of the Université Paris-Dauphine.
Created in 1981 by a group of students of Dauphine, association organizes each year in April a race of veil in the Mediterranean. The crews are trained thanks to the sponsoring of companies. The race affirms its originality while making it possible the companies sponsors to take part with a second boat in team with the sponsored school: it is the concept of the binomial.
Spi Dauphine is also affiliated with the French federation of veil, league Ile de France.
History

1981 : The history tells that not having been able to be registered, fault of places, with already very recognized the Course Cruising Edhec, a group of student decided to set up its own race of veil. Among them, some Catherine Chabaud, probably far from imagining the width which the event would take.
- 1982 : First race in the Atlantic, carried by an innovative concept: the binomial. A boat undertaken sponsored a second boat school; the two boats train the same team thus tying a true bond between the professional world and the student world.
- 1986 : Spi Dauphine puts the course on the Mediterranean which it will not leave any more.
- 1991 : For its 10 years, the organization of the time offers the Corsica and decides to lead the 88 registered boats of Hyères to Calvi.
- 1997 : Creation of the Day Community projects. The goal: to allow the companies present on the race to build an abstract and convivial dialog near the French and foreign students. It is as this year as the race will make stage for the first time on from now on the indémodable Île of Embiez.
- 2000 : Gulf-Juan - Saint-Tropez - Island of Embiez
- 2001: " Spi" is 20 years old: Gulf-Juan - Lavandou - Island of Embiez
- 2002: Gulf-Juan - Saint-Tropez - Saint-Mandrier - Island of Embiez
- 2003: Old man-port of Marseilles - Saint-Mandrier (cancelled due to weather) - Island of Embiez
- 2004: For its 23rd edition, Spi Dauphine joins again with the courses with topic: this year will be the " Race of Îles" : peninsula of Saint-Mandrier, Island of Porquerolles, Island of Embiez then, for the first time an arrival on the Archipelago of the Friuli. Creation of Sailing & Business for a marriage between jackets of quarter and training courses of pre-recruiting. One will remember his president Paul Chavinier; its vice president Pierre-Yves Kerhuel; its general secretary Arthur Lacroix and his treasurer Antoine Blanc.
- 2005 : Dauphine Spi directed by Nicolas Gueugnier, Antoine Ozoux, Claire Lefevre and Florent Baillergeau carries out an edition of dream, rich in sporting sleeves. Float of 49 boats…
- 2006: At 25 years, Spi Dauphine puts the course on the Languedoc and offers to all the competitors an unusual journey beginning to Sète to finish in the Old man-Port of Marseilles, for the third time.
- 2007 : Sponsored for the 26e edition by Nicolas Hulot, Spi Dauphine is déroulee from April 14th to 21st 2007. Nelson Montfort joint also at the committee of honor like Catherine Chabaud. This year still the organization offers an incredible course to the students and managers of company: Saint-Tropez, the Island of Porquerolles and finally Toulon it Seyne on Sea. A fantastic success with exceptional conditions.
Description of the Race

coastal regattas: Each year the race moves ports in ports, visiting the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean. It is the occasion to discover the superb coasts méditerranéenes, the magic landscapes and the splendor of the South Seas…
- the regattas of the type Banane
- the life with Ground: in end-of-day, all the competitors are found at the village around a play (tournament of game of bowls, beer contest, blind test…), of a sailing&business (cocktail offered by a company which is presented to the 600 competitors and set out again at the end of the cocktail with the CV of the competitors) or quite simply of a beer. Dauphine Spi offers dinners this year you will have appreciated the scraper of Lausanne, the cassoulet of Aucy, the fried hot dogs, the barbecue of the dinos or the dinner wine/cheese of Bongrain. To dine followed JT on Phinedo and Channel9 true report over the day in photograph and films. Finally to finish this day in beauty one evening until the end of the night.

Standard of allowed Boats: All livable boats a length ranging between 8,50m and 16m
- Limitation of the number of boats in race: With an aim of preserving the convivial spirit of the regatta, the fleet is limited to 60 boats.
- Gauge & Rating: The gauge in force is standard IRC of the current year.
