Butsu Zone ( 仏ゾーン , butsu zōn ) is a Manga of Hiroyuki Takei. Comprising three volumes, it was published in French with the editions Tonkam. The series was published initially in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump, of number 12 of 1997 with number 30 of 1997. Before the publication, an episode named Butsu Zone zero was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump Summer Special 96. The series is still popular in Japan even if the editor asked the author to stop it.
In 2003, the first album drama left, the chapter of the awakening (覚醒の章, kakusei No sho). Two other albums were published in the current of the year 2004, the chapter of test (試練の章, shiren No sho) and the chapter of eternity (悠久の章, yukyu No Sho). The characters of Butsu Zone make also a short appearance in a special episode which one finds on the DVD of the second S.F.O.V (Shaman Fight Of Vocal).
The news “Itako No Anna”, which was worth with the author the Prix Tezuka, is at the end of the third volume. The news “Death Zero” is at the end of the second volume.
Summary of the history
Senju Kannon, Bodhisattva, is sent by Dainichi Nyorai, lord of the country of the Bouddha S, to protect on Earth that which soon will wake up as a reincarnation of Miroku. This one must return when the teaching of Shakyamouni disappears. Māra, kings of the desires, wish to kill it to prevent that it does not save the human beings.Senju finds Miroku under the name of Sachi, orphan high in a temple by an old man monk.
Accompanied by Jizō and Koma, dog of stone, Senju will escort Miroku until in India, where Miroku woke up a long time ago.
Characters
- Senju (千手観音菩薩のセンジュ, senjukannonbōsatsu No senju ): reincarnation of Kannon, it has as an ambition posted to save all the human beings, whatever their crimes. Little boy, it keeps hope all the time, even in the desperate plights. Its character makes it unable of treason. He knows several very powerful techniques of combat, but almost never uses them.
- Sachi (サチ): ten year old little girl raised by her grandfather, it is the reincarnation of Miroku. Initially suspisiceuse towards Senju, it ends up following it not to be attacked permanently by the envoys of Māra.
- Jizō (地蔵菩薩のジゾウ, jizōbosatsu No jizō ): bodhisattva associated with the ways, he is the friend of Senju and was sent to lend to him hand-strong.
- Ashura (阿修羅): old bodhisattva which passed on the side of Māra, he was the friend of Senju. He is the leader of the forces being opposed to the awakening of Miroku.
- Koma (コマ): stone chein at the origin posed beside a temple, it was saved by Senju whereas it had been thrown. He followed Senju until on Earth.
- Batō (バトウ): other bodhisattva, it is sent to replace Senju when the situation becomes critical.
- Anna Kyōyama (恐山アンナ): shaman, it is able to make come from the spirits of the world from deaths. It is one of the main characters of the manga Shaman King, of the same author.

Vocabulary
- Onigiri : Rice balls, sushi moulded to the hand
- Busshi: Buddhist priest sculptor specialized in scupltures of Buddha. The word Busshi wants to say: the Buddhist creator of image.
- Sai No will kawara (the bank of Sai): In the design of the hell for the Buddhists, this bank is the place or the hearts of the dead children before their parents are found. They pile up rocks to make of them turns in the honor of their parents, but from the demons come to destroy them unceasingly. However, the bodhisattva Jizou comes to help them.
