Data-processing language
One calls data-processing language all formal Language used with an unspecified title in the definition or the operation of a Information system. The term however is used in certain contexts in the more restrictive direction of Computer programming language.
The data-processing languages are in general classified according to their type of use. The following list is not exhaustive.
- Computer programming languages to write programs and software.
- graphic Languages for the design like UML
- Languages of beaconing for the presentation or the structuring of contents, like HTML or XML
- Languages for the Specification or the formal methods
- Languages describing the syntactic rules of other languages, like the notation BNF
- Query languages like SQL or SPARQL
