is a Entreprise French, software publisher and subsidiary of the Group Dassault.

History

(,) is a subsidiary company of the Groupe Dassault created in 1981 by the company " Planes Marcel Dassault" (AMD) in order to develop new generations of the software of Computer-aided design CATIA.

Dassault systems since widened and developed everywhere in the world, of the the United States to the Japan, while passing by Israel or the India. The company has today as a principal sector the management of the life cycle of the products: PLM or Product Lifecycle Management and of the design 3D.

In 2007, launched several new sites, among which:

  • 3DVIA, devoted to the division of applications and data 3D
  • 3DSWYM (for See What You Mean ) in partnership with the Group Publicis

Marks and produced

Dassault Systemes articulates its software offer around marks specific to each great applicatif field of its market. This strategy is with the orgine structured around the two initial products of the editor, CATIA for the world of the CFAO and ENOVIA for the world of the VPM. It was reinforced thereafter during various acquisitions of the group.

The offer of Dassault Systèmes is composed of

  • CATIA is the principal tool of CAD of the editor, and his historical application.
  • CATIA Systems, resulting from the acquisition of Dynasim , Swedish company specialized in modeling and simulation of systems.
  • CAA V5, an environment of development opening CATIA, DELMIA and ENOVIA outside thanks to interfaces C++ and Java
  • DELMIA, software of simulation of factory resulting essentially from the acquisition of Deneb, Delta and Safework
  • ENOVIA for the collaborative and total management of the life cycle (PLM), with historically VPM then its successor VPLM , DMU to which were added SmarTeam then MatrixOne .
  • SolidWorks for the mechanical design in 3D,
  • Space, representing a whole of components of modeling and visualization 3D. This mark is resulting from acquisition in 2000 of modeller ACIS then property of Autodesk.
  • SIMULIA for the virtual simulation and tests, resulting from the acquision of the company Abaqus in 2005
  • Virtools, French editor of systems of virtual reality, acquired in 2005

The distribution remains assured by IBM thanks to a partnership dating from the first years the company. This partnership was the subject of a redefinition in January 2007.
