Darnets

Darnets is a common French, located in the department of the Corrèze and the area the Limousin. Its inhabitants is called Darnetziens and Darnetziennes.

History

Parish depending on the priory of Bonnesaigne and having four vicairies.

Among the lords of the castle of Lieuteret, one notes Annet de Soudeilles, friend of the duke Henri II of Montmorency, which was decapitated on order of Richelieu.

  • small parish church with some Romance bases altered with the XVIe century and undoubtedly with the XVIIIe century:
    • wall-belfry with buttresses forming hood in front of the porch,
    • characteristic site: cemetery established in amphitheater vis-a-vis the church.
  • castle of Lieuteret: very traditional building, with body of building between two wings in return, built in the middle of the XVIIe century on the ruins of a castle older and arranged and embellished with the XVIIIe century:
    • common, vault in the wing is, rooms and small cabinet in the western wing.
