Darling, I feel to renovate
Cherished, I feel to renovate ( Monkey Business ) is an American film of Howard Hawks left in 1952.
Synopsis
Barnaby Fulton is a chemist very worried by a formula which it does not find: that affects its evenings with his Edwina wife. With the Laboratory, one of the Chimpanzee S, having an age corresponding to 84 of our years, behaves like a very young animal. It is indeed about an experiment on the age in general and the renovation in particular. The hope large as for this next is discovered, especially for the director Oxley, 70 years, obviously impressed when the chimpanzee in question, a male, approaches very excited the cage where a female is. As the hope is large to find the forces of youth, Oxley proposes even like first human guinea-pig.
It proves then that the clothes of the two animals had been exchanged by error and thus that the very long-lived monkey was in fact the 6 month old female. A little disappointed, Barnaby continues its chemical mixtures and other experiments. Only a moment, the chimpanzee has fun with concocter it also a mixture, which finishes in the distributer of Eau. On its return and in spite of the contrary council of one of his/her colleagues, Barnaby tests his last mixture. As this one has bad taste, he drinks water of the distributer. It takes a few minutes to observe the first changes at Barnaby. It does not need in particular more to carry its glass-glass-of-bottle. It leaves the office and makes some eccentricities for a man of its age: it takes along for example the secretary Lois Laurel in ramble. Then any cost with the normal: it loses its youth found during a few hours.
Edwina joined it at the laboratory then arrives at also drinking the new elixir, follow-up of water glass obviously. It falls down in its turn in childhood and takes along its Barnaby in the hotel of their honeymoon. The night finishes badly for him. The following day, the effects disappeared at Edwina.
Later at the laboratory, they take both of the coffee - much of coffee! - prepared with the water of the Fountain of Youth. The saraband can thus start again. Initially with the Board of directors of which they sap the meeting. Then at the house where, on the one hand, Edwina deadened will awake beside a baby that it will take for her husband really turned over in childhood and, on the other hand, Barnaby becomes a redskin with children of the district who go together scalper a very indicated victim.
The water of the distributer is thrown after the Oxley big boss and the other scientists drank some by error, then all can return in the order with the return of each one to the normal.

Around film
Some general remarks
- the expression monkey business must be included/understood as combine .
- the film begins, during its generic, with Cary Grant which wants to enter too early on the film set and which is immediately made stop by the director: " Not yet, Cary! " That immediately launches the somewhat shifted and humorous tone of film.
- a modern terminology? Prince or the other modern poets who played with the sounds of the English letters of the alphabet invented anything: Oxley presents to Barnaby a project of advertisement for the product-miracle-which-return-young person, B-4. " B-4 is for Be-drills, before! " explain him it.
- In film, according to the important misunderstanding of the scenario, it is the monkey Esther female which incidentally invents the magic potion, but in the Bande-annonce American it is the Rudolf male which is mentioned! Sorry comment: with Hollywood, one removes any capacity of creation to the Femme S, even animal…
- the scenes where Cary Grant and Ginger Rogers fall down in childhood, initially separately one after the other then together, are to be noticed by their cocasse accuracy and their humor.
- a pretty exchange between Barnaby and Edwina child, where mixed remarks on its control with it without hands of the sport scar and a Honeymoon. Barnaby raises the question aloud: " Honeymoon with No hands, yeah sour! " (An honeymoon without hands, ouais interesting!). The question is indeed essential.
- a counterpart of the Barnaby scientist who perhaps relates to each one among us: I never know in advance when I' m going to Be has genius (I never know in advance when I become brilliant).
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn Monroe, in its 17th film, 4th generic , plays the part of a secretary not inevitably very smart and qualified, Lois: she does not seem for example not to know to type with the machine. When she believes to discover a kind of connection between Barnaby and the secretary, Edwina and exchange this revealing dialog to him on Lois:(E:) - Oh you mean that little pinup girl? Very cute!
(b:) - Fate off. Infant goal half.
(E:) - Not the half that' S visible!
(- Oh you want to say this small Pin-up? Very pretty indeed! - Enough. But with half gamine. - Ben not the half which one can see!)
Ses many sequences and scenes:
- When, at the 11th minute of film, Barnaby must go in the big boss, the secretary of this one, Lois, accommodates it and even one of its legs strips to him, in fact to show him a prototype of seamless stocking which it developed and of which she is very satisfaite.
In addition Barnaby is astonished that she arrived so early. " Oh yes, Mr. Oxley' S been complaining butt my punctutation " (Oh yes, Mr. Oxley complained about my punctuation). A few minutes later, it enters the office of the big boss who gives him a document to be typed. - Laws, with the director and Barnaby, goes to the laboratory and attends then the discussion like with the circus of the renovated monkey.
- It receives the order of Oxley to find Barnaby which suddenly left the office.
- It finds it then share in ramble with him, in a rather long sequence: sport scar and hair with the wind, roller skate, swimming pool and bathing suit sexy. That ends even in a kiss on the cheek of Barnaby (" I' m crazy butt you, Doc.! ").
- After she drank the magic potion, Edwina street almost on Lois because of the marks of lipstick discovered where one did not have.
- On the telephone with Oxley.
- With the meeting of the board of directors where she slaps Oxley and Barnaby.
- In the final scenes at the laboratory when Edwina arrives with the baby and when all observe if this one, Barnaby, will regrandir? …
- Charles Coburn: the men prefer the blondes (1953)
- Hugh Marlowe: Eve (1950)
- Ginger Rogers: Five trial marriages (1952)
