Darken Rahl

Darken Rahl is a fictitious character of the cycle of Fantasy the Sword of truth of Terry Goodkind.

Physical description

Darken Rahl is thin, of the delicate fingers and an appearance striking by its beauty. Its fair hair is long and fine and generally cascades on its shoulders. Its eyes are splendid of a blue tone steel. Its voice often calm, is posed.

History

Darken Rahl was the lord of D' Hara, as well as a powerful wizard who controlled the two facets of the magic (additive and subtractive) it acquired the subtractive magic only thanks to one pact with the Guard (it was not born with).

He is also the father of Richard Rahl although he never knew it.

Died

Darken Rahl was killed when Richard, using of the first lesson of the wizard, induced it in error and made it open the bad Box of Orden. Later, Richard unintentionally made it return in the world of alive (in a spectral form). The spectrum of Darken Rahl tried to tear the veil which separates the kingdom from dead from that of alive, releasing the Guard, but it was stopped by Richard who returned it in the kingdom of the shades where it continues to plot against Richard.

Known capacities

Due to its pact with the Guard of the kingdom of deaths, Darken Rahl could use the magic additive but also the subtractive one.
Darken Rahl could move between the borders which separated from the Contrées medium of Ground of West and of Hara, thanks to a very complex magic spell requiring the devotion of a child, innocent whom it killed.
Darken Rahl could launch a fate on its cloud-spy so that the others gather around so that it is not noticed it but that could follow to him easily to the trace.
