Dark Vador

Dark Vador ( Darth Vader in original version) is a character of the saga the Star Wars .

It is about the Sith identity of the knight Jedi Anakin Skywalker after its swing on the obscure side of the Force.

History

Introduction

Dark Vador (Anakin Skywalker) is the Elected official of the Prophecy according to which a man will come one day to restore the balance of the Force, bringing peace and the order in the galaxy…

It is about the central figure of the whole of six films. Especially after the creation of the prelogy (Episodes I, II and III) because originally his/her son Luke Skywalker was only the true hero of the trilogy (Episodes IV, V and VI). It is the creation of the prelogy and the complete restoration of the trilogy which put Dark Vador at the center of all the history of the Star Wars by making some a complex character and impassioned, and while leaving it the only role large malicious in which the trilogy of origin had confined it and saved in fine .

Episode III

The battle of Coruscant makes rage. Prisoner of the separatists, the chancellor Palpatine is released by Obi-Wan and Anakin which, yielding under the pressure of the chancellor, carries out the Count Dooku, then wounded and with ground after their combat. Twenty years later…

Dark Vador continues through the galaxy the princess Leia Organa, holder of the plans of the Black Star. He is unaware of that it is about his own daughter, adoptive with the birth by the Senator Bail Organa. He attacks his vessel Tantive IV and makes it captive, but does not manage to recover the plans (it had recorded them in the droïd R2-D2 one of most known of the saga with C-3PO). It takes along the princess on the Black Star of which it shares the command with the Grand Moff Tarkin, to question it. In order to show their tenacity with the eyes of the Leia princess, Tarkin and will explode to him its “native” planet: Alderaan.

(It is in this episode that Dark Vador plays the most central part. It has a total liberty of action, and benefits from it to strangle the admiral Ozzel and the Needa captain who badly carried out his orders.)

Episode VI

On the the forest Moon of Endor, wanting at all costs to corrupt his/her son, Dark Vador on board its Luke shuttle come from itself to devote itself to his/her father to bring back it clear side of the Force accommodates. Precise details

Recently, George Lucas delivered a key for better including/understanding this extremely complex character. According to the creator of Star Wars it should be understood that Anakin is not really a traitor: when it becomes Dark Vador, it continues to be the Elected official of Jedi Prophecy. Anakin was to even become Dark Vador in order to achieve prophecy. Because while becoming Sith it can then destroy the line of Sith, i.e. itself and the Emperor Palpatine (Dark Sidious). Thus Prophecy refers to a sacrifice (the Elected official must sacrifice himself to restore balance within the Force).

With the image of Wotan, Dark Vador designed two twin children of which he hopes that they will help it to achieve what is not to him any more able to realize (domination of a universe), but which finally is turned over against him and causes its loss.

Origin of the name

The name Dark Vador is resulting from the French doubling of the film the Star Wars of 1977, the original name of the character being Darth Vader . Its name evokes immediately invader , “invader”, just like the name of the emperor Dark Sidious evokes insidious , “insidious”. Moreover Vader “father” in Dutch means.

As for Darth , the fans interpret it like a contraction of dark , “dark” and death , “died” or of “ Dar K Lord off the Si' th' ”.

Finally the official version of Star Wars concerning the origin of Dark, is a word of Rakata Ancien: Darika, which means Empereur, with the wire of the evolution the word became Darik then finally Dark. The title was taken by Revan visiting Rakata towards -4000.

Inspiration

As curious as that can appear, the imaginary one of the creator of Dark Vador is pressed on a powerful cultural prototype.

Indeed, the side luminous and/or obscure of the force are not to remember the analytical Psychologie of it of the psychoanalyst Jung is as partculiers his concept of shade. A Shade (the share of shade which is in us) with which if one yields to the " obscure side of this (it) force" conduit with the destruction of oneself and/or others.     • the armor of Dark Vador is largely inspired by the medieval behavior of the Samurai S, helmet and facial mask included/understood (although the original model is coloured much more and does not comprise a cape). It is after a question concerning the breathing of the character that George Lucas put at back-plate helmet-respiratory in Sith.
