Darband
Darband دربند|“carries closed” is an old village, close to Tajrish, Shemiran, maintaining a district inside the limits of the town of Teheran. Darband is the beginning of a very popular footpath which leads to a mountain of the chain of the Alborz, the mount Tochal, which dominates the town of Teheran. A Télésiège is also available for those which are not interested by the excursion.
Darband is also the place where are buried, in the cemetery Zahir o-dowleh , of the very important Iranian artists like Iraj Mirza, Mohammad Taghi Bahar, Forough Farrokhzad, Abolhasan Sheba, Ruhollah Khaleghi, Rahi Moayeri, and Darvish-khan.
Darband has a pleasant climate during all the year, and knows heavy snowfalls in winter.
Darband is also the starting point of a long footpath 250 meters, bordered of many small coffees and restaurants. They are popular and are full in the evening. The tourists and the townsmen attend also the many living rooms of the where one can smoke of the Narguilé S (called locally ghavekhāne sonnati ) along the hiking trail.
