Danzig (horse)

Danzig was a racehorse English Pur-sang born with the the United States in 1977 of the union of Northern Dancer and Pas of Name (Admiral' S Voyage).

Asset 310.000 $ Yearling, its career of races was extremely short: three appearances only in minor tests, which show as many victories.

In spite of this mean prize list, it enters to the stud farms in 1981, and appears there, until its retirement in 2005, like an exceptional standard, one of the best continuators of Northern Dancer. On the 662 candidates whom it produced, 192 are " stakes winner" (winner of an important race), of which forty winners of Group 1. Three times Chief candidate of the American standards (of 1991 to 1993), its offspring excel on the courses speed. In 2002, the price of a projection of Danzig was monayait starting from 250.000 dollars.

Itself excel father of standards, it gave Danehill, one of the best reproducers in the world, but also Green Desert , Chief' S Crown and Anabaa .

He is also father of the champions Lure, Dance Smartly , Dayjur , Stephan' S Odyssey , Danzig Connection , Polish Precedent , Agnes World , Librettist , or Shaadi .

Danzig died in January 2006.
