DansGuardian

DansGuardian is a system of Contrôle of contents distributed under the license LPG and written in C++. It is carried out under Linux and Unix, in conjunction with a waiter Proxy such as Squid or Tinyproxy. DansGuardian does not have Graphical interface; it functions in Ligne of order. With the the United States, it satisfies the criteria enacted by the law for the protection of the children on Internet ( Children' S Internet Protection Act ).

DansGuardian uses several skeletal methods to determine if a Web page must be blocked. Among them; a system of weighting detects words prohibited in a page, and a score according to the gravity and of the number of detected words assigns to him. DansGuardian then blocks the pages whose score exceeds a certain threshold. DansGuardian can also trust with black lists of URL such as that proposed by the URLBlacklist.com site, or with the code PEAKS of a Web page when it is indicated.

DansGuardian is one of the rare popular control systems of contents to lay out of a open Source code . Alternatives Closed-source of DansGuardian exist however: SmoothGuardian and CorporateGuardian.
