Daniele Pistone

Daniele Pistone , born in 1946, is Musicologue French, Professor at the university of Paris-Sorbonne (Paris 4)

Biography

Parallel to its musical studies (in particular piano and direction of orchestra to the Academy of Besancon and the Schola Cantorum), it obtains at the university diplomas of letters and Italian before supporting, under the direction of Jacques Chailley, a doctorate of State devoted to the piano in the French literature (Paris 4,1973).

She teaches since 1971 at the university of Paris-Sorbonne where she was appointed professor of history of the music in 1981.

Producing with TF1 and Radio-France (France-Culture and France Musics, 1972-1981), it founded the collection " Music-Musicologie" editions Honore Champion in 1975, the " International review of music française" (Slatkine, 1980-1997), the Interarts Seminar of Paris (1998-) and directs since 1989 the Musical Observatoire French of the Paris-Sorbonne university.

It was to advise for the artistic formations and the cultural projects with the MST (Scientific expedition and Technical of the ministry in charge of Research) and represented Higher education with the Interdepartmental Mission for the Development of Artistic Education (1994-1998).

She was elected, in 2004, member corresponding of the Académie of the Art schools.
