Daniel Peter born in 1836, deceased in 1919 is an industrialist of Vevey (Suisse). He is the inventor of the Chocolat to milk. He married the girl of François-Louis Cailler another pioneer of the Swiss chocolate.

CH as chocolate tells its history, it was written by the father of its little girl, the downward last of the inventor. The family now domiciled in Lausanne and continuous to perpetuate her passion. Career

  • 1867, it joins François-Louis Cailler, his father-in-law
  • In 1867, Its neighbor Henri Nestlé invented dried milk.
  • Consequently Daniel Peter had the idea to combine cocoa powders some with milk to attenuate its roughness in mouth.
  • In 1875, after many tests, it invented the milk chocolate.
  • 1904, it joins Kohler
  • 1911, the company is called " Swiss Peter, To curdle, Kohler, Chocolates S.A."
  • In 1929, Nestlé buys the company of Peter to found Chocolats Peter, Cailler, Kohler, Nestlé.
