Daniel Lanois

Daniel Lanois (September 19th 1951 with Hull, Quebec -) is a Music producer, Musicien and Canadian Auteur-compositeur-interprète . He produced albums for many artists and some under his own name. He worked with Bob Dylan, U2, Peter Gabriel, Robbie Robertson, Ron Sexsmith and Nash The Slash.

Biography

He began his career of producer in his own studio in Grant Avenue Studios with Hamilton, working with groups of music local, in particular Martha and the Muffins for which his/her Jocelyne sister played of the low guitar.

After being discovered by Brian Eno and being collaborated in some of the projects of this one, its career takes a new dash when Eno invites it Co-to produce The Unforgettable Fire of U2.

Bono of U2 recommended Lanois to Bob Dylan towards the end of the Années 1980; in 1989, Lanois produced Oh Mercy , often regarded as one of the best albums of Dylan. Eight years later, the two men work again together on Time Out Of Mind , the first album of Dylan since 1990, which is worth a price Grammy to him better album in 1997.

In addition to being a producer, Daniel Lanois plays of the Guitare, the Pedal steel, the Dobro, he sings and he writes songs. This pallet of talents is used on several of the albums which it produces, from where the sound signature that one allots to him.
