Dr. Daniel Jackson (born on July 8th, 1965) is a character of the universe of fiction Stargate , interpreted successively by the actors James Spader (in film constituting the beginning of the adventures of the fiction) and Michael Shanks (in the televised series derived from film, and telling the later events with this one). The two actors share an important physical resemblance, which allows a relative continuity of the character.

Character

Daniel is a man deeply good and engaged in his actions, and it is often compared to the voice of conscience and humanistic of its team. Before any Egyptologist decried by his pars for its theory according to which the Egyptian pyramids were in fact of the bases of landing for extraterrestrial spaceships (it was right in addition), graduate of many studies and specialities, it speaks about many land and extraterrestrial languages, and it is an anthropologist and an informed historian, combining the legends of the Earth with those of the galaxy and finding a happy medium there. However, Daniel is able to ébaudir itself during hours to study an Ancien text or an engraving Goa' uld. Its districts resemble a true biliothèque-museum. It is on this level the equivalent of Casing, it speaks and nobody includes/understands what it says, one is often obliged to ask him to simplify or to be explained. Fine diplomat, and able to melt himself in the mass of any culture, it wrote a declaration of alliance with Tok' râ and established many friendships on a great number of planets. Its calm and its serious inébranlable attracts the respect to him. Of the team, it is that which thinks in a “mystical” way. Its relations with Jack deserve a bracket: at the time of their first mission on Abydos, this last regarded it as worst incompetents. Then, following their first adventure, the two protagonists became without question the best friends of the world, as Jack confirms it on (first) reads of dead of Daniel.

History

Daniel Jackson is contacted in 1996 by Catherine Langford, which gives him the possibility of deciphering an Egyptian archaeological artefact. When Daniel reaches that point (at the end of only two weeks) and succeeds in activating the Porte of the stars, it is assigned with a military group carried out by Colonel O' Neill which then crosses the door of stars to explore planet being other side.

During the mission on the planet Abydos, it helps the local population to demolish control of Râ and fall madly in love with a local woman, Sha' Re. When the group turns over on Ground, Daniel prefers to remain with Sha' Re that he marries some time afterwards.

One year later, when the Earth is attacked by Goa' uld S carried out by another Lord, Apophis , Jack O' Neill turns over on Abydos to inquire into the origin of the attack. It then meets Daniel who shows him what it discovered: a room filled with combinations of door of stars. While Daniel shows this discovery with O' Neill, Apophis kidnaps Sha' Re like his/her brother Skaa' ruffle. Daniel then agrees to return on Earth to leave to research his wife.

He is assigned with the team SG-1 , a new group, but also carried out by O' Neill. A few years later, it must face the death of his wife Sha' Re, but succeeds in nevertheless saving Skaa' ruffle. At the time of a mission on an extraterrestrial planet, Daniel absorbs a lethal amount of radiation, dies and makes then his rise thanks to Oma Desala. However, it is constrained by the others “Anciens” to take again its human form when it violates their rules while intervening to protect Abydos from the attack of Anubis.

One year afterwards, SG-1 finds by chance Daniel Jackson on a planet occupied by a Peuple first. The memory of Daniel was erased by the Anciens before the latter do not give again in Daniel his human form ( to see rise ). Daniel is then reinstated and continuous to explore the universe and to fight the Goa' uld S. After their defeat, it prepares to leave for Atlantis, a city of Old the discovery in the galaxy of PEGASE, but is empéché by it by its friendly Vala Mal Doran. Thanks to it, he discovers the treasure of Avalon, in England.

Unfortunately, this treasure contains an apparatus of communication which allows the contact with a quarrelsome race, the Ori, which involuntarily starts the invasion of our galaxy by this new enemy of an equivalent power even higher than that of Old.
