Daniel Inouye

Daniel Ken Inouye (born in 1924) is an American politician, member of the Democratic party and senator of Hawaii to the Congrès of the United States since 1963.

He was the first representative and the first American senator of ascent Japanese E. It is a Nippo-American, " Nisei" 2nd generation born in Hawaii, democratic center.

Inouye was born the September 7th 1924 with Honolulu.

In 1943, it enlisted like volunteer in the army and passed part of the Second world war to be fought in North Africa and France in the 442 RCT, which was worth to him to receive prestigious decorations ( Bronze Star and Distinguished Service Cross-country race ) like all the members of this regimental grouping. He is then elected with the territorial legislature of Hawaii.

In 1959, Hawaii becomes the fiftieth State of the the United States making it possible Daniel Inouye to present themselves and be elected with the Chambre of the representatives of the United States. He is re-elected in 1960.

In 1962, it is elected with the Sénat of the United States succeeding the democrat Long Oren. Daniel Inouye is re-elected in 1968, 1974, 1980, 1986, 1992 and 1998.

In 1973 - 1974, it sits at the senatorial board of inquiry on the Scandale of Watergate. Of 1975 with 1979, it chairs the senatorial commission of the Information. Of 1987 with 1995 and of 2001 with 2003, it chairs the commission of the Indian Businesses. Of 1987 with 1989, it chairs a special subcommittee inquiring into the sale of weapons the Iran.
