Daniel Dezeuze
Daniel Dezeuze , artist French, was born in 1942 with Alès.
Biography
After a youth montpelliéraine it makes Spanish studies while attending as raises free the School of the Art schools of Montpellier. His/her father, the painter Georges Dezeuze, teaches the bases of the trade to him. 20 years the direction of a the Alliance Fran1caise in Spain in Asturies in 1962 ensures - 63. In 1964 - 65 it obtains a grant of the Mexico for the University of Mexico City (Department of Architecture and Town planning) and visits then the east coast of the United States. He then discovers American painting in his reality even and not through reproductions. He carries out his military service in the Co-operation with Toronto (Canada). Return in France and installation in Paris in 1967.
Its famous work of 1967 entitled “Frame with sheet of figure tended” makes it possible to better include/understand for the example the concerns of Supports/Surfaces. Defense in 1970 of a thesis in comparative literature, devoted to the poet Vicente Huidobro.
Founding member of the group Supports/Surfaces of 1970 with 1972. It takes part in many collective exposures of which that with the Museum of modern art of the Town of Paris in 1970. As from 1971 and until 1991 exposes to the gallery Yvon Lambert in Paris. From 1977 to 2002 he teaches at the School of the Art schools of Montpellier.
In 1987, Dezeuze remains in Popular republic of China for the first time and exposes to it.
In 1998 is held an important retrospective of its work with Carré of Art - Museum of contemporary art in Nîmes.Depuis 1999 it exposes to the gallery Daniel Templon in Paris.
One can say that the continuity of its reflection relating at the same time to the questioning of the ogee moulding and idealistic space led it to explore many ways. Choosing the use of multiple and various techniques, Daniel Dezeuze falls under a second reading of American art without denying a real jubilation for the use of materials considered as the poor. The general conceptualization of its work makes use of the supports most varied like field of experiments. There exists an enigmatic and ludic dimension which pushes it to re-use the drawing in way provocante while being played of the cultural references (ballistic or Chinese). If the work of Daniel Dezeuze appears well in perpetual movement, it seems however that the relevance always disputes it with sagacity.
