Daniel Delaveau
Daniel Delaveau was born on December 22nd, 1952 with Chalette-on-Loing (Loiret), in the suburbs of Montargis. His/her parents are workmen, militant of the J.O.C. (Christian Working Youth) then M.L.O. (Liberation movement Worker).
After the baccalaureat obtained in 1970 with the college of Montargis, it follows one year of preparatory class (“higher mathematics”) then is registered in economic scenes at the University of Orleans (1971).
In 1972, he is member of the national office of the J.E.C. (Youth Christian Coed). He becomes president of 1973 to 1975 about it. Militant of PSU since 1970, it joined the PS in 1974.
From 1975 to 1978, it is Journaliste with the weekly magazine “Christian Témoignage”.
In 1978, with the town hall of Rennes, he becomes the first person in charge of the service “Information-Communication”. For this reason, it takes part, inter alia, with the installation of the cable network and the creation of TV Rennes.
From 1987 to 1998, he is director of the company of mixed economy Rennes Cité Media, responsible for the supervision on the exploitation and the programming of the cable. Living since 1978 with Saint-Jacques-of-the-Moor, it becomes in 1983 assistant of the mayor of the commune, Georges Cano, in charge of town planning. In 1989, he is elected mayor of Saint-Jacob and will be re-elected in 1995 and 2001. In 1994 it also succeeds Georges Cano as general adviser of the canton of South-western Rennes. He is re-elected in 2001 and occupies since 2004 the function of vice-president charged with the habitat.
Within the agglomeration of Rennes, in 1983, he is the youngest vice-president of the District, person in charge of the communication. He preserves this function until 1995 dates to which he becomes vice-president of Rennes-Metropolis, in charge of transport. For this reason, it is named into 2001 president of the SEMTCAR, the company of mixed economy which has the role the construction of the network of the subway with Rennes.
Daniel Delaveau is married and father of 4 children.
