Daniel Deffayet
Daniel Deffayet , born in Paris on May 23rd 1922 and died in the same city on December 27th 2002, was professor of Saxophone to the Conservatoire of Paris where it succeeded Marcel Mule after his retirement in 1968. It will occupy this station until in 1988. It a long time animated the training courses with the international Academy of summer of Nice and that of Annecy.
The teaching of Daniel Deffayet continued in the academic tradition of Mule, imposing very the phrased traditional one, the systematic vibrato and a primarily neo-classic repertory, generally composed by other professors of the CNSM of Paris.
Its Quartet of saxophones did not have same success that of Mule, but was often engaged by Radio France for creations, such Alliages of Antoine Tisné, among others.
