Daniel André Brun

Daniel André Brun is a French expert of Aïkido. He is the founder of the “Federation of traditional aikido”.

Biography

Born in Bordeaux the November 14th 1925, it begins its martial course by the Judo (1948), discipline which it practices until in 1980, having exerted functions of teaching, skilled technician 5th daN) (and of arbitration (at the European level).

Following the arrival in France of Tadashi Abe, it began the study from the Aikido. Tadashi Abe being among the very first teachers of aikido made to Europe, Daniel Brun belonged to the very first French black belts of aikido. Its 1st daN is decreed to him in 1954 by the Aïkikaï of Tokyo.

This last rank is the last recorded by the Aïkikaï. It indeed then left the movements and federations related to Aïkikaï to found its own organization, the FAT.

The Commission of the ranks of this same federation decreed the rank of 8th daN to him “Federation of traditional aikido” in 2004, then 9th in 2006.
