Synopsis

David Aurphet, a vaguely lost professor of guitar sees himself solicited to give to courses to Viviane Tombsthay the girl of a very easy couple. The wife, Julia, continue David of her assiduities. He succumbs easily. The couple seems to live a banal adultery when David receives by the post office a video cassette where its intimate frolicking with Julia is recorded. It puts in the Edwige confidence which has a video tape recorder and lives a house in with respect to the residence of Tombsthay. In same time, David, victim of an attacker, owe his safety with a strange hired killer, Daniel Forest. This one acknowledges that its mission consists in eliminating Graham Thombsthay and to seize invaluable microfilms. Moreover, it puts David keeps some against Julia and a revolver entrusts to him. In the absence of her husband, Julia invites his lover in his residence. David arrives. Surprised: Graham is there to kill it. David uses his revolver, Graham collapses. Julia advises in David to disappear and it finds refuge at Edwige. This one shows him with a video recording that it is Julia which killed Graham. Deafened, David returns at his place where it finds Daniel, arms with the fist. David kills it, mask the corpse and usurps his identity before leaving to research Viviane.

The British title of film is Death in has French Garden ( Mort in a French garden ). Without any connection with the French title, it is a wink of the British distributer in “ answer ” to the French exit, a few months before, film of Peter Greenaway The Draftsman's Contract ( the contract of the maker of drafts ) under the title: Murder in an English garden !
