Dance of the goat
The Danse of the goat (H. 39) is a part for Flute only, composed by Arthur Honegger in 1921 for the flutist Rene Roy. It is characterized by its rhythmic ternary sharp.
After a slow introduction, representing the alarm clock of the goat, the character of the music becomes light, fast, generally acute and primesautier, it is the dance of the goat. One arrives then at rest of the goat, due a deceleration of the piece, to return to the topic of the dance, the goat having recovered forces after the rest. The piece is completed by a sentence similar to the introduction which represents the tired goat, lends to domir. The execution time is of approximately three minutes.
