Daizong
Daizong emperor of China (726 - 779). He was the 8th emperor of the Dynastie Tang and reigned of 762 with 779. He was the son of the emperor Suzong.
Under his reign, the King of the Tibet, Trisong Detsen (reign 740 or 755 according to the sources - 797), invades the capital of China Chang' year and set up a new emperor.
According to the Chinese official story, in 763, whereas Daizong and its general, Guo Ziyi, were with Luoyang, the forces Tibetans suddenly occupied the capital Chang' year. The forces Tibetans would have been however defeats in a few days.
According to the version Tibetan, the riders of Trisong Detsen invaded the Chinese capital of Chang' year in 763. The Daizong emperor, would be flees, the Tibetans named a new emperor. This victory was preserved for the posterity in Zhol Doring (stone pillar) with Lhassa. One reads there:
" King Trisong Detsen is a wise and deep man. The quality of its advisers is recognized, and what it does for the kingdom is successful perfectly. He conquered and holds under his force much of provinces and fortresses of the China. The Chinese emperor, Hehu Ki Wang (Daizong) and his ministers were terrified. They offered a perpetual annual homage of 50.000 rollers of silk and China was obliged to pay this hommage"
Daizong became a practitioner of the Bouddhisme tantric. Daizong ordered that the effigy of Manjushri is placed in all the Chinese monasteries. The mount Wutai became the site of the first Chinese tantric schools.
