Daisy miss

Miss Daisy is the name given by the guitarist Jean-Pierre Danel to the one of its electric guitars rarest, an original Fender Stratocaster of 1954. Some of the most known instruments of this time were indeed baptized, in particular famous the Stratocaster S of Eric Clapton, Blackie, a model of 1957, and Brownie, a model of 1956.

Miss Daisy is a rare and emblematic instrument, a model of Sunburst color, and one of very first the Fender Stratocaster produced, in spring/be 1954, which marked the beginnings of the model which was going to become the electric guitar most sold with the world. After ten prototypes in April, often in colors custom, Fender until July manufactured a few tens of Stratocasters, samples of preproduction entrusted to the stores by the representatives, or some musicians close to the mark, before a first orders 200 guitars, manufactured as from October of the same year. The Fender files list 268 Stratocasters manufactured in 1954, but it is difficult to know if this number included ten prototypes of spring. Miss Daisy one of very rare - if it is not the single one in original state - the guitars is dated from spring '54 in France.

Its interest is not only the fact of being one of the built first and of being extremely rare, but it resides in its particular characteristics: the first three years, the majority of Stratocasters had a body in ash (and not in alder like thereafter), and that of Miss Daisy with the rare characteristic to be in only one and single part (as it is the case most snuffed of among these invaluable instruments), thus supporting the distribution and the resonance of the waves and the vibration of the guitar. It is equipped with a maple handle. The color sunburst to two let us tons is here a ambrée variation, relatively unusual compared to the yellowish color generally applied to Stratocasters of this time.

Microphones slightly different from those of the models of the following years, a stringed-instrument trade entirely carried out with the hand and a particular care taken to these first models, before a mass production, make these guitars the last word and the dream of the fans of Fender Stratocaster.

The handle is gone back to June 1954 (signed " TG" for Tadeo Gum, which manufactured it) and the body of July of the same year. The guitar carries serial number 0585 (the Fender classification, which also related to Telecasters, was not chronological. The guitar considered as first Stratocaster after the prototypes carries the #100, and was manufactured in April 54, the guitar carrying the #0001 date of autumn 54, and a model #0049 carries the same dates as Miss Daisy ).

Some of the Fender Stratocaster of 1954, preserved with time, are from now on in good place in international museums devoted to the music or the design. The others are made very rare… Eric Clapton had offered some to his/her friend George Harrison. Mark Knopfler also acquired a specimen of this instrument considered by the specialists as the Stradivarius in the electric guitar.

This Stratocaster prestigious enjoys a very great reputation. Opinion of various international specialists having tested the guitar (Hank Marvin inter alia), Miss Daisy is a truly exceptional instrument and without any doubt one of all the best Fender Stratocaster ever produced. The very official Fender magazine qualifies Miss Daisy d'" instrument exceptionnel" and of " merveille". The official body of the mark adds “it is unfortunately impossible for us to make you listen to the incredible harmonics of the acute microphone the depth and the intense clearness of low of the micro low register, the edge of the microphone middle, the physical feeling of the body of the guitar vibrating during a front… It remains me to wish you, would be this only once in your life, to be able to play some notes on a guitar like this one. ”. The official violin maker of the mark still declares “I have the immense honor to present to you in these pages Miss Daisy . Frank, that let us be done 20 years that I adjust and torture guitars, this one belonged to the “Signal 2” of best on which I had happiness to work”. It is known that the other is Gibson the Paul 1959.

At the time of auctions, the models of this year in Sunburst color reached in 2006 and 2007 of the prices of more than 180.000 US $. A model " custom color" was recently sold in Japan more than 250.000 US $.

Miss Daisy makes her first appearance on disc in 2007, at the time of a duet Laurent Voulzy/Pascal Danel, produced and realized by Jean-Pierre Danel.

Among the guitars of Jean-Pierre Danel, one also counts forty Stratocaster, of which its model 1956 of color Fiesta Red the Marchioness , famous since it was reproduced on the small pockets of its albums in success Guitar Connection.
