Dahab
Dahab (دهب) is a commune of Egypt located on the east coast of the peninsula of the the Sinai. This old Bedouin village of S, whose principal activity was the fishing, experienced the construction of several hotels and the development of the Tourisme which is the main activity of the village today. It is now about a popular destination, but less than Charm el-Cheikh. A long time, Dahab was a gathering place of young routards, attracted by a athmosphère of freedom cultivated by the Bedouins, but also by the marijuana. The Egyptian Government has undertaken for several years to draw better a part of this small pearl from the Red Sea, and to make of Dahab a true tourist resort, more than one place of fold of routards of the whole world. The village thus changed much. Hotels cossus were built, replacing little by little the straw huts, the population changed: much more surfers and plungers, with the detriment of the marginal ones, rastas and hippies. Symbol of these changes, the city was struck in 2006 by an attack which made several deaths, in particular among tourists. Into 2004, the population was divided as follows: 1000 Bedouins approximately and 300 foreigners. Dahab consists of several places: Azzalah, Masbat, Mashraba and Dahab city.
Tourist attractions: practical of the Board to veil and the Plunged underwater. Restaurants of seaside with Masbet (center town of the tourists).
