Dagor Dagorath
Dagor Dagorath (the Battle of the Battles or the Final Battle in Sindarin), is a battle described in the work of J.R.R. Tolkien. The version published of the Silmarillion finishes with the description of the voyage of Eärendil, but the Silmarillion such as writing at the origin by J.R.R. Tolkien ends in a prophecy of Mandos, that of the Dagor Dagorath .
According to the prophecy, described in the Formation of the Earth of the Medium , Morgoth will discover how to break the Porte of the Night and will destroy the Sun and the the Moon. For its love of those, Eärendil will return from the sky and will find Tulkas, Eönwë and Túrin Turambar on the plains of Valinor. All the Free People of the Ground of the Medium will take part in this final battle: Elves, Dwarf Men and plain.
There the forces of the Valar will fight against Melkor, which will have ressuscity much its former disciples, including Sauron. Tulkas will fight against him, but it will be by the hand of Túrin that finally Melkor will be killed. Túrin will plunge its black sword Gurthang in the heart of Melkor, thus avenging the Children for Húrin and all the Men.
