One of the first to mix the rock'n'roll, the jazz and the improvisation, the British group Soft Machine was finally cofondé in 1966 by Daevid Allen (guitar), Robert Wyatt (battery, voice), Mike Ratledge (keyboards) and Kevin Ayers (guitar, low, voice - Hugh Hopper, present on the recording of 1963, will replace it in 1969).
