The Orchestra da Camera Italiana (or O.C.I.) is a Italian Chamber orchestra

History

The orchestra is founded in November 1996 by Bruno Giuranna, Rocco Filippini, Franco Petracchi and Salvatore Accardo. Its members are selected among the pupils of the Académie Stauffer of Crémone, town of Lombardy where lived inter alia Antonio Stradivari.

It is directed by Salvatore Accardo, and its repertory extends from the baroque to the contemporary.

Organization

The orchestra and its director have a session of preparation in concerts and recording every six months. During the year, Luigi Lacchini (Casement bolt) accommodates the orchestra starting from the autumn, and the SPA of Sirmione in spring.

The orchestra lives thanks to the financial support of various organizations godfathers, of which the Banco Populare de Milano, its official partner since 1998.
