DG Flugzeugbau

DG Flugzeugbau GMBH is one manufacturing of Planeur based with Bruchsal close to Karlsruhe, Germany.

History

The company was created in 1973 by Gerhard Glaser and Wilhelm Dirks under the name of Glaser-Dirks Flugzeugbau GMBH .

In 1978, an alliance was created with the company Elan Company located in Slovenia to increase production capacity. Old models DG are always produced in this company like the DG 505.

The Glaser-Dirks company knew financial troubles in 1996, which had with the problem of non-availability of an engine of replacement of the engine of origin for the DG-800B. The company was bought by Friedel Weber and his wife Eva-Marie Weber with the association of an accountant Gerhard Wolf. They founded new business “DG Flugzeugbau GMBH”. Wilhelm Dirks remained associated as an originator as a chief.

In 2000, DG Flugzeugbau made build a new factory close to the aerodrome of Bruchsal. In 2003, DG repurchased the capital of Rolladen Schneider including/understanding the name and the designs of mark LS.

Rolladen-Schneider LS8, standard Class with in option of the extensions of wings with Winglets which increases the scale to 18 meters
Rolladen-Schneider LS10, Classe 15 meters and 18 meters, it should be noted that for the setting in production of the LS10, company DG Flugzeugbau always needs an important investment and currently works to reduce its costs, but the future of the LS10 seems assured with the brilliant participation the prototype in several competitions.
