DEC Alpha
DEC Alpha , also called Alpha AXP , is a Microprocesseur RISC 64-bits initially developed and manufactured by the Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC), which used it for clean uses as work stations and waiters. Conceived like a successor of the range of computers VAX, it was delivered with the operating system VMS, as well as the UNIX of DEC. Later operating systems Open source functioned on Alpha, particularly GNU/Linux and of the distributions UNIX BSD. Microsoft developed for the processor until Windows NT 4.0 SP6 and the development for Alpha after beta 3 of Windows 2000 did not continue.
This processor was fastest at its time. The very high frequencies were possible thanks to optimizations " manuelles" drawing, and with expensive processes of engraving. 64bits and controller integrated report are of rigor.
