D\' Angelo
D' Angelo - pronounced " di-angelo" - (born Michael Eugene Archer on February 11th 1974 with Richmond in the State of Virginia is a singer of naked-drunk person of the United States, Pianiste, Guitariste, Compositeur, and producing.
Biography
From angelo begins its rather young career, and records its first album Brown Sugar in 1995. Although the sales were disappointing at the beginning, the album progressed quickly in the charts, in particular thanks to the song " Lady" , classified among the 10 best compositions in the classification of Billboard Hot 100, which allowed the significant émergeance several artists of naked-drunk person in the Nineties (in particular Maxwell, Erykah Badu and well of others). Five years after the exit of Brown Sugar , angelo left in 2000 the album Voodoo . Directly placed in top of the hits-parade, known Voodoo the dedication while making it possible its type-setter to gain two Grammy Awards, one for the best R' album B, the other for the best R' singer B. the title-reference of this album will be Untitled (How does it feel) , a homage to the legendary artist Prince. Of angelo has a son, Michael Jr., with the singer of naked-drunk person Angie Stone and a named girl Imani, born in October 1999.
In 2002, “Q stores it” includes it in its list of the " 50 type-setters to be known before mourir" (" 50 Bands To See Before You Die").
In January 2005, Of angelo is stopped in possession of Cannabis and itself doped. Pleading guilty these facts on April 13rd, it received a lenient sorrow within sight of the facts (the driving under influence of intoxication or drug addict is penally serious in the United States): withdrawal of its license and suspended sentence. September 12th, for possession of Cocaine, it received sorrow a 3 years with deferment.
September 19th, 2005, one week after being condemned for cocaine possession, Of angelo was seriously wounded at the time of an car accident with Powhatan County, in Virgnie, while being projected out of the vehicle at the time of the impact: it then did not carry of safety belt. It is now out of danger and could return at his place at the end of a few weeks of hospitalization.
Recently, Of angelo announced that he worked hard on a third opus, temporarily named James River. After one long period of inactivity, Of angelo was regularly invited on different opus from other artists.
In August 2006, Of angelo confirms to be given to work while being exiled temporarily on the island of Antigues and to have begun from collaborations with the rappeurs Common and Q-Tip. It would seem that he was also under discussion with the producer Jermaine Dupri on the possible exit of new a opus but no official source can confirm this at present.
In January 2007, Questlove (in close cooperation with Angelo) announces on the Okayplayer official site that D' Angelo does not wish any more to market the album James River . It has seems it found a new breath, and wishes to be invested in a project of new less dark album. Questlove puts forward the idea that James River could be marketed all the same with the new album, that is to say like double CD. Many then makes the bringing together between James River and the Black Album of Prince that this last had refused to market because considered to be too dark and more in adequacy with its new aspirations.
