Döllersheim

Döllersheim (dependence of Pölla, Low-Austria, Austria), is an Austrian hamlet now disappeared, one of the places of origin of the family Hitler.

Döllersheim (and its hamlet Strones) were the native village of the paternal family of Adolf Hitler in Austria in the province of Low-Austria, in the district of Zwittl. At the time, it was about the province of Waldviertel, a forest and rural area poor near the Bohemia. Qualities Hitler, the father of the dictator, is baptized there the June 7th 1837. When the Third Reich annexed Austria (Anschluss) in 1938, it is decided to build an army ground, drive and field of fire on the territory of Allentsteig. 40 villages are thus annexed whose Döllersheim, the inhabitants (approximately 7.000 people) are moved of force. One is unaware of if the men of Hitler discovered fall it from his/her paternal grandmother Maria Anna Schicklgruber (1795-1847). In 1942, Hitler orders with its troops to destroy close Döllersheim and several villages. The training ground (Tupl Allentsteig) exists still today.
