As the revolts of the Germains on the the Rhine require an military intervention as a Messiah, the Romans must pay large sums in the form of tribute in Daces to preserve peace in the area. This situation humiliating for the Romans lasts until the accession of Trajan to the throne of the Roman Empire in 98. It immediately engages a series of military campaigns, which will extend the Roman Empire until its maximum limits.
