Dámaso Alonso

Dámaso Alonso (1898, Madrid - 1990) is a Spanish poet of the Génération of 27.

The largest part of its poetic production was published after the war.

Among that one can quote:

  • Oscura noticia (1944), work in which one meets his characteristic style: poetry tracked, nun but not fundamentalist. Its title comes from Saint Jean of the Cross: “The signs of God are not very obvious. ”

  • Hijos of will go (1944, second edition corrected and increased in 1946) is the level highest of poetry alonsienne. In the long ones towards, with a violent language with the lexicon of bad taste and offensive, the poet - who suffered from the impacts of the Spanish civil war and second world war - shows, denounces and protests against the spectacle of the world.

  • Hombre there Dios (1955), published with Malaga, serene reflection on the presence of God, the beauty of the universe and the role of the man.

  • sober Duda there amor el Ser Supremo (1985), small poem which, as the title indicates it, meditates on the religious problems of the author.
