Cyrille de Scythopolis

Cyrille de Scythopolis , born towards 525 in Scythopolis (today Beïsân/Study Bureau Shéân, in the south of the Galileo Lake in Israel), any young person decides to become monk and goes to Jerusalem. In 544 it enters the laure of saint Euthyme where there remains ten years. In 557, after having belonged to the group of monks who dislodged Origénistes of the Laure News, it settles with Mar-Sheba. The date of its death is not known.

Cyrille began his work of biographer ('' CPG '' 7535-7543) as of approximately the 20 years age, towards 544. B. FLUSIN, Miracle and history in the work of Cyrille de Scythopolis (And. aug.), Paris, 1983, p. 34 would think “readily that the Lives of Cyriaque, Théodose, Théognios and Abraamios are posterior with the Life of Jean…”, who can be gone back to 557 (p. 33).
