Cyrille Toumanoff
Cyrille Toumanoff (Géorgien Toumanishvili ) (1913 - 1997) Russo-géorgien historian specialized in the genealogy and the history of the Georgia and the Arménie.
Cyrille Toumanoff was born with Saint-Pétersbourg from a father prince géorgien and a Russian mother. He left the Russia with his mother at the time of the Révolution of 1918. The family is established initially with Paris then emigrated with the the United States in 1928.
It obtained a doctorate of the Georgetown university (Washington DC) in 1943 and taught there until its retirement, as Professor emeritus in 1970.
Authority recognized on the peerage-books questions and dynastic, it had specialized in the genealogy of the princely families of the the Christian Caucasus.
Prince Toumanoff was also Consultant History of the Sovereign Ordre of Malta from which he was Chevalier.
