Cyrene (comics)
Cyrène is mutant belonging to the universe of Marvel Comics. It was created by Chris Claremont and Steve Leialoha in Spider-Woman #37 (April 1981).
Origin
Irish Theresa O' Rourke Cassidy is the girl of the mutant Sean Cassidy, alias Hurleur, and of Theresa O' Rourke. Born during an absence from his/her father, and his/her mother having died during the childbirth, it found herself quasi orphan (his/her father not being with the current of its birth). She was raised by Black Tom Cassidy, then placed in an orphanage during the stays in prison of her uncle.
After having found his father, then member of the X-Men, it discovered his capacities. It formed part during a time of the Egarés (where it met the Man-Multiple), then joined the team X-Force, carried out by Cable, after a combat against the Plague and Black Tom.
It had a connection, rather conflict, with Warpath, which helped it to fight its alcoholism and to put order in its family life. It also had an unstable relation with Deadpool.
It later is revived belonging to X-Corp Paris, where she did not appreciate the objectives of her father.
Recently, it joined Jamie Madrox in its agency of detective Factor-X Investigations.
Capacities
-
Cyrène inherited the capacities of his/her father. It can, by a simple cry, to explode glass or to strike its adversaries.
- It can also fly, by emitting vibrations.
- It developed its capacity, so that its voice hypnotizes those which listen to it, but it must for that remain calm and slackened.
