Cycling

The cycling recovers several concepts: it is initially a daily activity for much, a leisure for even more practitioners, and a sport proposing of the races with Bicyclette according to several alternatives: the School of Cycling, the Cycling on road, the Cycling on track, the Cyclocross, the Bicycle any ground (VTT), the Bicycle touring, cycling in room and the Sports shirt-bicycle. The Olympic sport is managed on a world level by the international Union cyclist.

Cycling on road

The cycling on road includes/understands several types of tests: One says cycling on road that it is a sport of team, but with classification individuel.

Cycling on track

The tests of Cyclisme on track proceed on cycle-racing tracks and take more diversified forms, it exists tests individual and tests by teams, of the tests of sprint, medium-distance race and basic. Most known are speed, the continuation and the kilometer. The principal competitions are the Olympic Games and the Championnat of the world of Cycling on Track.

Cyclocross

The Cyclocross is a winter speciality, which is run in circuit. The race lasts approximately one hour, on an often mixed coating (asphalts and ground). This discipline ultra-is dominated by the Belgians, and very popular in this country, especially in Flandres.

Bicycle any ground

This also called discipline VTT is most recent of sporting cycling. The Bicycle any ground (or Mountain Bike) was invented in the United States in 1970. It was imported into France a few years later.
Ce term also indicates the bicycle with which this discipline is practiced: Taking into account its versatility, this type of bicycle is, with the VTC, more sold in France currently.

Bicycle touring

The bicycle touring arises in multiple forms on the basis of the walk, of the family practice with free pace, to go until the rallys and patents at all the courses and all the distances: free rallys, Patent-hikers, Flêches, Diagonal, Cyclo-discovery S, Cyclo-mountain, Audax, etc… In France the bicycle touring is organized within the French federation of Bicycle touring (FFCT).

Example of a remarkable course cyclotouristic:
In 1948, Lionel Brans share alone of Paris for Saigon on a bicycle of 19 kilos carrying 41 kilos of luggage. Only the civil war in Burma will prevent it from joining its goal on its two wheels. It was necessary of it more than attacks of wolves, brigands and of tiger to stop it…

Cyclosport or cyclosportives

The cyclosportives tests (or cyclosport) are with semi way between the bicycle touring of the hikers and the competition cyclist but they are tests of mass suggested with all the cyclists. Of this fact the organizers propose numbers, a classification and a timing as in the marathons of race on foot.

Professional runners died in race

  • 1904 : Paul Dangla, world champion of medium-distance race, is killed during a test with Magdeburg
  • 1935: Armando Cepeda falls into a ravine to Borough-in Oisans (Isere) at the time of a stage of the Tour de France
  • 1937: Andre Raynaud, world champion of medium-distance race, is killed during a test with Antwerp
  • 1950: Camille Danguillaume is reversed by a motor bike towards the end of the Championship of France with Montlhéry
  • 1951: Serse Coppi falls to one kilometer from the arrival from the Tour from Piedmont. It finishes the race, but dies the following night
  • 1956: Stan Ockers, world champion on road, is killed on the track out of Antwerp

  • 1984: Joaquim Agostinho runs up against a Chien close to the arrival of a stage of the Tour of Algarve against Portugal. He dies ten days later
  • 1986: Emilio Ravasio, victim of a fall during the first stage of the Turn of Italy, dies two weeks later
  • 1987: Vicente Mata is reversed by a car during the Trophy Luis Puig.
  • 1987 : Michel Goffin falls into the Coma after a fall in the Tour the High-VAr and dies six days later
  • 1988: Connie Meijer is victim of a Malaise during a Critérium with the Netherlands
  • 1995: Fabio Casartelli, Olympic champion, falls into a turn from the descent from Portet d' Aspet during the fifteenth stage from the Tour de France and dies a few hours later
  • 1999: Manuel Sanroma makes a deadly fall close to the arrival of the second phase of the Tour of Catalonia
  • 2000: Nicole Reinhart the United States falls and strikes a tree at the time of a race the 17/09 in Arlington Heights.
  • 2003 : Andrei Kivilev falls close to Saint-Chamond in the 2e stage of Paris-Nice. He dies with Saint-Etienne
  • 2005: Alessio Galletti dies of an heart attack in the Subida has Naranco in Spain.
  • 2006 : Isaac Galvez is deceased the 26/11 following a fall at the time of the 66e edition Six Day old of Ghent.
