Cyberwar

The cyberwar or cybernetic war consists of the use of Ordinateur S and Internet to carry out a Guerre in the cyberspace.

Still it regarded little there as Science-fiction, it has just found a demonstration concrete at the time of the demonstrations against militarism Japan board in South Korea and China. Many Internet sites and Japanese governmental waiters were thus attacked, then occupied by pirates, as well as the site of Sony in China. These coordinated attacks conducted starting from thousands of computers, use the Denial-of-service and are supported by the governments of Korea and China.

Types of attacks

There exist several methods of attacks, this list counts them more alleviating with the more grave :
  • vandalism: Attacks aiming to modify or disfigure Web pages, or them attacks of Denial-of-service. This type is simple to fight and generally causes few dommages  ;
  • the Propaganda and the Misinformation: Political messages (or others) can " bombarder" any user of Internet  ;
  • data acquisition: confidential informations which are not correctly protected can be intercepted and modified, making possible the Espionnage from one end to another of the world (see Titan Rain and Moonlight Maze)   ;
  • the stop or the sabotage of équipements : the military activities which implement satellite computers and making it possible to coordinate means of defense are particularly aimed by this type of attacks. The orders and the communications can be intercepted or modified, thus endangering the troops.
  • significant attacks of Infrastructure S: powerplants, water supply, pipelines and tankers, communications and means of transport are vulnerable to this kind of attacks.
