Cyanuric acid

The cyanuric acid (or acid isocyanuric ) is officially named S-Triazine-2,4,6-triol .

__TOC

Descritpion

Its empirical formula is C3H3N3O3, its formula semi-developed is C3N3 (OH) 3. Its developed formula reveals an aromatic heterocycle (C3N3); each Atome of Carbone is related to the Oxygène of a group hydroxyl (OH). It has a tautomeric form which is S-triazine-2,4,6-trione.

Environment

It accumulates in the water treated with the Chlore when this last is stabilized with UV by Isocyanure or cyanuric acid .

It is a bioaccumulable product (for example at the Bivalve S).

its particular structure chemical does not leave an easy access point for oxidation, as well biocatalytic as chemical, which makes this compound particularly resistant to the treatments of depollution of water.

Toxicity

The cards of data of safety indicate that:
  • n° CASE: 108-80-5

  • n° EC: 203-618-0
  • molar Mass: 129,08 g/mol
  • Made up irritating: Xi

It can be a breakdown product of other chemicals, and it can act as synergy with other products (toxicity suspected for the kidney in the animal in the presence of Mélamine for example).
