Cyanosite

The cyanosite is the bluish coloring which the skin takes when blood contains a great quantity of reduced Hémoglobine. It is inter alia a sign of hypoxic respiratory insufficiency serious.

It can be caused by a disorder of circulation, a deterioration of the Oxyhémoglobine or by a disorder of the Hématose. It can be the consequence, inter alia, of pulmonary disorders, congenital cardiac malformations, a bad blood circulation, a Anémie or an intoxication.

Cyanosites

There exist 2 great types of cyanosite:

Central Cyanosite

It is related to a desaturation of arterial blood in Dioxygène. This pathology reaches the whole of the body. It can originate in 2 causes:

  1. a pulmonary problem of hématose (ex: a bronchopneumonie). The passage of dioxygene in blood is decreased.
  2. a circulatory problem. There is communication interventriculaire. (congenital cardiac malformation comprising a shunt right-hand side-left (ex: tetralogy of Hand lantern)

(the most frequent shunt is the shunt left-right-hand side, because of the reason of the higher pressure in great circulation. The shunt right-hand side-left exists normally at the fetus, and at the young newborn, before the closing of the arterial channel occurring in the first days after the birth, there exists a light shunt left-right-hand side)

Peripheral Cyanosite

It is related to a venous desaturation caused by an extraction of more important dioxygene of blood by fabrics. A circulatory insufficiency involves the stagnation of blood and a rise in extraction. It arrives when the concentration in reduced hemoglobin exceeds 5g/100 ml of blood capillary. This pathology can reach all the body or to be localized as in the Syndrome Undermines Higher where it reaches only the parts drained by the higher vena cava.
