Cut the Caribbean one
The Cut of Caribbean the , known since 2005 under the name of Digicel Caribbean Cup or right Digicel Cup , is a tournament of international Football organized by the Caribbean Football Union and CONCACAF, every 2 years, for the small countries of the Caraïbe.
It is used as tournament of qualification for the Gold Cup, the championship of football of the nations of the CONCACAF (North America - Central America - the Caribbean). In 2007, the four semi-finalists of the Cut of the Caribbean are qualified for next Gold Cup.
Preceding denominations
The Cut of Caribbean, Caribbean Cup in English, Copa del Caribe in Spanish, was called Caribbean Championship or Championnat of Caribbean the in 1989 and 1990. It then took the name, in focntion of its sponsors of Shell Caribbean Cup , Shell/Umbro Caribbean Cup and of Interforever Caribbean Cup , between 1991 and 1998. Then that of Cut caribéenne of the nations in 1999 and 2001 before taking in 2005 its current name of Digicel Cup .
