Curtis Fuller
Curtis Dubois Fuller (born the December 15th 1934 with Strait) is a Tromboniste of Jazz.
The parents of Fuller were jamaïcain S and died when it was young. He was thus educated in a ophelinat. In Detroit he was the schoolmate of Paul Chambers and Donald Byrd. It also knew there Tommy Flanagan, Thad Jones and Milt Jackson.
Aprs its military service between 1953 and 1955 (whereas he played in an orchestra with Chambers and the brothers Cannonball and Nat Adderley), Fuller joined the quintet Yusef Lateef, also originating in Strait. In 1957 the quintet went to New York and Fuller recorded its first sessions as leader for Prestige Records .
Alfred Lion of Blue Note Records intended it to play with Miles Davis at the end of the years 1950 and allowed him to record like Sideman on sessions directed by Sony Clark and John Coltrane; its participation in the album Blue Train is a reference. Fuller is particularly proud to be the only trombonist to have recorded as well with Coltrane, Powell and Smith, in August and September 1957.
