Cursed Asmodée
Maudite Asmodée is a group of Gothic metal originating in Gard (area of Nimes) in the south of the France.
The group exists since 1996 and has left the album KALT UND WARM in 2004. This album received very good criticisms on behalf of the Métal medium thanks to a its innovator and surprising. Marrying multiple influences (Glam rock'n'roll with Metal while passing by the Gothic Rock'n'roll) and alternating brutal changes of environments and rates/rhythms, the music of the group remains relatively unclassable. The group baptized it: SURREALIST METAL.
This reference to surrealism is due amongst other things to 2 recurrent themes which one also finds at the pictorial movement: onirism and madness. Surrealism is also for Maudite Asmodée an angle of vision and of reading of our company: " Our words are the reflections of our lives, our feelings, of our company, all last through a very personal prism which deforms them, exaggerates them, the noircit." (ext. interview The French Touch - June 2004)
The longevity of the group is mainly due to the fact that the concept knew to attract a certain number of musicians to the fur with measurement of the years. The current composition of the group is thus rather recent (since 2002), even if three members are present in the group since the beginning (1996-2006, 10 years already).
The group is composed of 5 members:
-
Antoine: Songs and Lamentations
- Julien: Guitar
- Fred: Low
- Xavier: Keyboard and Choruses
- Lionel: Battery
The name of the group is of origin biblical, Asmodée is the demon sent by God to punish the Egyptians. It is that which brings the ten Wounds of Égypte.Il also appears in the book of Tobie sometimes described as being the demon of the impure love, or the opener of roofs.
