Curiethérapie
The curiethérapie consists of the establishment, in the middle or in the vicinity of a Tumeur, radioactive elements tumoricides. Passive elements (plastic tubes, wire) are set up in the zone to treat, either by the natural ways (in particular in Gynécologie), or thanks to a surgical operation. Radioactive elements are then inserted by the means them passive elements in order to irradiate the cancer cells.
This technique makes it possible to deliver an important amount of radiations in tumoral volume, while limiting the amount delivered to surrounding healthy fabrics. It is however of a use more specific than the external radiotherapy, because the need for an establishment in the middle or near the tumor in limit the indications.
