Cunipert
Cunipert , known as the Piles , is a king lombard of Italy which reigns of 688 with 700.
Wire and successor of the catholic king Perctarith, it is associated with the throne of his/her father his father Pertharite starting from 678, succeeded to him in 687. It fights the rebellious dukes ariens Alagis of Thirty, that it overcomes with the Corne of Adda, and Ausfrid, usurping duke of the Friuli, and subjects them. It puts an end to the schism Aquilée which separated the Église in Italy in 698.
It was détrôné in 690 by Alachis, duke of Thirty and Brescia; but, recalled soon afterwards by the wishes of its subjects, it drove out Alachis and took again its States. It reigned in peace until its death, in 700.
He is the first king lombard to strike currency with his effigy (?).
