Cumbre del Laudo

The volcano Cumbre del Laudo (in French, literally top of the arbitration ) is a currently active volcano, of Argentine. It is in province of Catamarca, in the Département of Antofagasta of the Sierra.

Situation

It is with a few 15 kilometers with the north-north-west of the volcano El Cóndor, i.e. with a few forty kilometers with the north-north-west of the frontier collar of the Paso of San Francisco.

It is an active volcano located on the western edge of the Puna of the Argentinian province of Catamarca. With very little distance towards the west (seven kilometers) is the top of the volcanic solid mass of the Sierra Nevada, delimiting the border Chile enne.

Description

The volcano is characterized by superb a large crater of 1  400 meters diameter. As much of volcanos located in this uninhabited zone, one does not know the date of his last eruption, for lack of witnesses of this one.

Its geographical coordinates are 26° 30 ' south - 68° 30 ' west.
