Culture on balks
The culture on balks is an agricultural technique used to limit the effects of a moisture or important Pluviométrie or to allow the cultures on the ground S too Argile ux.
It consists in cultivating in lines of small hillocks from approximately 15-20 centimetres height (6-8 inches), prepared the former season. The hillocks are flattened on the top to form a kind of trapezoid with soft slope avoiding gullying in the event of strong Pluie S.

The permanence of the balks has the advantage of supporting the improvement, with time, of the physical properties, chemical and biological of the ground.
